CLASSROOM
OF THE FUTURE

I started with bringing my tent to the classroom to make an example of conceptual thinking for lessons conceptual design & Art. My goal: Bringing students out of their comfort zone, make their heads spin, make a statement about schools making robots out of them and make a simple example of making great ideas. Accompanied with examples of Yoko Ono, Wim T. Schippers and Marina Abramovic.

At first they had to come up with a crazy, beautiful, pointless, dreamy idea. And make a proposition for a prototype. Then they were welcome in the Classroom of the future to pitch their idea. If well, I blessed them and de-robotize them as autonome conceptual thinking student fase 1.

The Next assignment was for the students to make their prototype come alive by telling about it in a vlog. What it is, what it does and where it has to be located.

At 1st the students went nuts and resisted because the thought, it was to difficult for them.
But every lesson I did this, everyone came up with a great idea. And they were proud of it! The most funny thing is the moment they are waiting in front of the classroom, excited to pitch their idea.

These lessons I made for Social Work Studies, within the Expressief Talent Program at Curio Breda.
